Book lover.

I truly enjoy reading a hard copy of a book where I can savour turning every page. Mystery/thrillers and personal development are my favourite.

If you know of a good read, please share! One of my favourite authors is fellow Canadian lawyer, Shari Lapena.

Fantastic listener.

It’s important to me to get to know people individually and hear about their lives outside of the legal realm. Tell me how your day is going. Talk about your goals, your spouse and children or your job.

I look forward to getting to know the details of your life that matter most to you.

Family matters.

Entrepreneurship runs in my family and I come from a long line of strong women with unparalleled work ethic.

Both of my grandmothers and my mother have been trailblazers in their own right, and I am proud to follow in their footsteps.

Dog Mom.

My best furry friend is my loveable silver-beige miniature poodle named George.

George and I enjoy going for long walks, hikes, swimming, and visiting local dog parks to make new friends.

George is our Chief Morale Officer. He loves treats, walks, and belly rubs.

Experience.

At DEVEAU LAW, I believe that navigating real estate transactions, corporate matters, and estate planning shouldn't feel overwhelming — it should feel like you're in capable, experienced hands.

I've spent a decade practising law in Ontario, with a focus on real estate, corporate law, estate planning, and estate administration. I was called to the Ontario Bar in 2017 and graduated from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Common Law in 2016. Over that time, I've handled hundreds of residential and commercial closings, advised small businesses through incorporation and growth, and guided families through the estate planning and probate process.

I founded DEVEAU LAW because I wanted to bring that depth of experience together with a genuinely personal approach — the kind where you're never just a file number. Whether it's your first home purchase, a business you've built from the ground up, or planning for what comes next for your family, you get a lawyer who knows the law thoroughly and takes the time to make sure you understand it too.

Q + A.

Where did you grow up?

I am originally from a small town east of Toronto, located along Lake Ontario, just north of the 401, called Courtice (pronounced like “Curtis”). I lived in Ottawa for three years during law school and in Kingston, Ontario for four years during my undergraduate degree at Queen’s University. Since 2019, I’ve proudly called Kingston home and love to explore KFLA and Southeastern Ontario.

Favourite sport?

Soccer! I’ve played since I was 5 years old and currently play with the Kingston Women’s Soccer Club. I love to watch the Canadian National Women’s Soccer Team compete locally and in FIFA and Olympic tournaments.

What’s your Spotify playlist like?

I have a wide taste in favourite music (I credit my dad for this, whose music collection is massive!). I regularly listen to many genres, from classic rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and reggae to bluegrass, country, and more. Some of my favourite bands and artists include Queen, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Bob Marley, Etta James, Van Morrison, Johnny Cash, Natalie Cole, Simon & Garfunkel, Elton John, Aretha Franklin, Delbert McClinton, Dolly Parton, The Beatles, Harry Belafonte, Norah Jones, Ray LaMontagne, Hozier, and The Chicks.
