The Evolution of DEVEAU LAW.

2017

In 2015, Taylor Deveau began as an intern with a top business law firm in Whitby, Ontario. In 2016, she graduated law school from the University of Ottawa and completed her Articles of Clerkship (a.k.a “articling”) at the same firm.

Taylor later accepted an associate lawyer position at the firm after her Call to the Bar of Ontario on June 23, 2017. Taylor Deveau has been a practicing lawyer and active member of the Bar since 2017.

2018

DEVEAU LAW launched on February 1, 2018 in Oshawa, Ontario. As the owner and sole lawyer, Taylor provided her clients with quality, professional services in the areas of employment law, real estate and wills and estate planning.

At the same time, in order to enhance the services offered to her business clients, Taylor obtained a
Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Durham College, Whitby Campus.

During the summer of 2018, Taylor participated in a week-long intensive workshop in Toronto, Ontario led by the Stitt Feld Handy Group where she learned a number of advanced dispute resolution techniques and strategies and obtained a Certificate of Achievement in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law.

2019

Our firm ceased operations temporarily from April, 2019 through to December, 2021 during the time when Taylor worked as an associate lawyer at a busy well-known firm in Kingston, Ontario. While there, Taylor honed her skills in real estate, corporate law, estate administration, and crafting wills and powers of attorney and customized estate plans.

In August, 2019, as part of her Human Resources Management Certificate, Taylor completed a research paper on the topic of gender equality in the workplace and, specifically, human resources strategies for private law firms to retain women and increase promotion of women to leadership and decision-making roles within the firm. You can read the full paper written by Taylor J. Deveau HERE.

2021 to Present

Taylor re-launched DEVEAU LAW on October 27, 2021. We are here to stay, offering legal and business services remotely and in person to our clients all across Southeastern Ontario.

With technological advances in law and business around the world as a result of the the COVID-19 pandemic, Taylor realized that she could serve her clients more efficiently by offering premium services in a friendly, personalized and modern way.

From August 2022 to April 2026, Taylor also served as a full-time professor at St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, teaching in the Office Administration - Health and Legal Services program, mentoring and instructing the next generation of law clerks and legal assistants in providing technical excellence to local law firms, hospitals, long-term care facilities, non-profit organizations, and small/medium businesses.
